Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Friday at 11:10AM

Transmission(up 6.78%), PTC India(up 1.75%), Jyoti Structures(up 1.71%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 1.31%), Energy Development Company(up 1.08%), Hitachi Energy India(up 0.73%), Reliance Power(up 0.32%), NTPC(up 0.21%), Alstom T&D India(up 0.12%) and Voltamp Transformers(up 0.11%) were among the top gainers.

KKV Agro(down 5.00%), KEC International(down 3.52%), Suzlon Energy-Partly Pd up Right Is(down 2.72%), NLC India(down 1.63%), KPI Green Energy(down 1.50%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 1.45%), Adani Transmissions(down 1.09%), Indowind Energy(down 1.06%), Karma Energy(down 1.02%) and Suzlon Energy(down 1.02%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 56.75 points down at 18552.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 218.31 points at 62352.37 at around 11:10AM.

IndusInd Bank(up 1.63%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.39%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.92%), ITC(up 0.77%), Nestle India(up 0.73%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.66%), Eicher Motors(up 0.64%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.58%), HDFC Bank(up 0.52%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.42%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 6.52%), Infosys(down 2.91%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.38%), Wipro(down 1.39%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.19%), UPL Ltd(down 1.0%), Bajaj Finserv(down 0.96%), Axis Bank(down 0.7%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.57%) and Bajaj Finance(down 0.55%) were trading in the red.
