Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:19AM

Vadilal Industries(up 8.10%), Marico(up 2.90%), Dangee Dums(up 1.93%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 1.69%), Heritage Foods(up 1.25%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 0.93%), Nestle India(up 0.93%), Parag Milk(up 0.89%), Jyothy Labs(up 0.83%) and Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.81%) were among the top gainers.

Hindustan Foods(down 2.69%), Prataap Snacks(down 1.59%), ADF Foods(down 1.32%), Nakoda Group(down 0.89%), Emami(down 0.83%), Sheetal Cool Products(down 0.59%), DFM Foods(down 0.57%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 0.31%) and Dabur India(down 0.05%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 10.8 points down at 18598.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 42.92 points at 62527.76 at around 10:19AM.

IndusInd Bank(up 1.95%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.39%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.17%), Nestle India(up 0.93%), Eicher Motors(up 0.83%), ITC(up 0.71%), Tata Steel(up 0.63%), Hindustan Unilever(up 0.61%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.57%) and Cipla(up 0.53%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 5.49%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.79%), Infosys(down 1.5%), Wipro(down 0.89%), UPL Ltd(down 0.87%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.49%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.43%), Bajaj Finserv(down 0.4%), Reliance Industries(down 0.39%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.36%) were trading in the red.
