Nifty continues to climb a wall of worry as it looks to be in the final leg of its rally before heading for a correction.
NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed lower in the Friday's session.

Lexus Granito(up 4.99%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 0.78%) stood among the top gainers.

Dvpt Corporation(down 3.98%), Aro Granite Industries(down 2.99%), 20 Microns(down 2.67%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 2.08%), NMDC Ltd(down 1.77%), Oriental Trimex(down 1.75%), KIOCL(down 1.68%), Ashapura Minechem(down 1.46%), Pokarna(down 1.40%) and MOIL(down 1.20%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 112.75 points down at 18496.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 389.01 points at 62181.67.

Nestle India(up 2.2%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.24%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.23%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.17%), Eicher Motors(up 1.08%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.98%), ITC(up 0.89%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.8%), State Bank of India(up 0.79%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.71%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, HCL Technologies(down 6.71%), Tech Mahindra(down 3.62%), Infosys(down 3.14%), Wipro(down 2.39%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.87%), UPL Ltd(down 1.82%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.73%), Reliance Industries(down 1.52%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.42%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.37%) closed in the red.
