Depressed by mom’s death, software engr dies by suicide

Nagpur: Depressed by the death of her mother, a 37-year-old woman ended her life by jumping from a terrace of 11 storey apartment Jayanti Mansion, in Manish Nagar area, on Wednesday.
Police said the deceased Lekha Mudaliar was a software engineer and working with a reputed software company in Nagpur as a project manager. According to information with the police, Lekha’s father had retired from service while her mother Vijayalakshmi was a housewife. Vijayalakshmi passed away due to illness a few days ago. Since then, the victim was depressed. On Wednesday afternoon, Lekha went to the terrace of the housing apartment and reportedly jumped to her death.
On getting information about the incident, the Beltarodi police team reached there and sent the body to GMCH for post mortem.
“We also seized a suicide note written by Lekha in which she mentioned that she was very depressed over her mother’s death. Hence, she committed suicide, and nobody should be held responsible for this,” police said.
