Motorola is all set to host an event on December 15. The company hasn't yet revealed the name of the products that it will announce at the event, but the teasers have revealed that we will witness two phone launches. One of them is said to be the Moto X40, which has been in the rumour mill for a long time now.
So far, the company hasn't hinted anything about the Moto X40, but the device has already been spotted on several online platforms like TENNA and Geekbench. The listings have revealed most of the details about the Moto X40. It is said to come with Qualcomm's new and top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which we will see powering many flagship phones in 2023. The company might launch the device with up to 18GB RAM and 512GB storage option.
The Moto X40 could come with a typical 6.67-inch display to offer users a big screen for content consumption. It will likely be a curved panel, which is something that the teasers suggest. The panel will likely operate at Full HD+ resolution. It will offer a punch-hole display design with close to zero bezels, which is something that the teasers show. It could come with an in-display fingerprint sensor because this is something that one would expect in the premium price range.
There is no clarity on features like IP rating for some protection against water in the rainy season or otherwise. We do expect it to come with stereo speakers for a better binge-watching experience. The details about support for HDR 10+, DC Dimming, fast charging, and more are still under wraps. The leaks claim that the Moto X40 could pack a 4,450mAh battery. A few reports claim that the company would provide support for a 68W fast charge.
At the back, we may get to see a triple rear camera setup, including two 50-megapixel sensors and a 12-megapixel tertiary camera. On the front, we might see a 32-megapixel sensor for selfies. The details about which sensor Motorola Moto X40 might be using is unknown. We will get more clarity and details on most of the things on December 15.
Motorola is also expected to bring the Moto X40 to the global market, but as Moto Edge 40 series. As of now, there is no information when the new smartphone could arrive in Indian market and other regions. To recall, its predecessor Moto Edge 30 arrived in India in May this year. It now remains to be seen whether the Moto Edge 40 will launch in India a little early in 2023 or around the same time when Edge 30 smartphone was announced.
