Jaipur: Focusing on the priority sector, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has projected a credit potential of Rs 2.75 lakh crore for Rajasthan in 2023-24. The credit potential amount is 9.6% higher than the previous year.
Nabard launched the state focus paper (SFP) for financial year 2023-24 with focus on district-wise realistic potential, both in physical and financial terms.
The focus paper was released by Sreya Guha, principal secretary, cooperative department, and Rohit Das, regional director of RBI in the presence of Rohit Gupta, secretary finance (budget) and SLBC convenor Kamlesh Kumar Choudhary. Of the total projected credit potential, as much as Rs 1.62 lakh crore (59%) is towards agriculture and allied activities, while Rs 81,299 crore (30%) is assessed for the MSME sector. Besides, the credit plan also estimated a credit potential of Rs 31,410 crore (11%) towards other priority sectors like housing, education, etc.
Baiju Kurup, chief general manager, Nabard, said , “We deliberated upon the credit demand at the grass root level, besides taking cognizance of the policy interventions and programmes initiated by Nabard, financial institutions, the state as well as Central governments in various sectors.”
