33-year-old man kills his brother-in-law’s wife, shoots himself

Gurgaon: A 33-year-old man shot himself dead after killing his brother-in-law’s wife in the latter’s house in the Bawal area of Rewari district, police said on Wednesday. Police suspect Jagdish, the accused, was having an affair with Sheetal, the victim.
In his police complaint, Sheetal’s husband Mahesh claimed that he heard gunshots as soon as he stepped out of the house to urinate on Tuesday night. “I rushed back only to find Sheetal and Jagdish lying in a pool of blood. Jagdish had a pistol in his left hand.”
Police said that Jagdish was hiding nearby and as soon as Mahesh went out to urinate, he sneaked in and killed Sheetal.
Jagdish and Sheetal, according to Mahesh, became close in December 2021 when his wife and Mahesh’s sister Poonam died. Jagdish started visiting Mahesh’s house frequently. “Jagdish even took Sheetal to his house in Nuh once. However, Sheetal returned on November 7 and started living with me,” Mahesh told the cops.
An FIR has been registered. “We are investigating the matter,” a police officer said.
