3 get life term for committing murder, destroying evidence

Kanpur: Additional sessions judge/Fast Track Court Harendra Kumar Ojha on Wednesday sentenced three men to life imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on each for committing murder and destroying evidence.
Those convicted were identified as Shivraj Verma, Vikram Kumar Jatav and Kshitij Kumar Kashyap. The prosecution had charged four people for committing the murder and destroying the evidence and criminal conspiracy but the court acquitted Lalit Kumar Pandey for want of evidence.
The court in its order observed that the prosecution had proved the case of murder and criminal conspiracy against Shivraj Verma, Vikram Kumar Jatav and Kshitij Kumar and convicted them. He ordered to give Rs 40,000 out of the fine amount to Shashi Verma, widow of Rahul Verma. According to ADGC Omendra Dixit, one Mohit Verma in a FIR lodged on August 22, 2017 stated that his brother Rahul Verma had received an order from mobile no. 9807654307 of supplying 50 plates of biryani. An unidentified man who claimed himself to be the one who had placed the order loaded the biryani on an e-rickshaw.
He told Rahul to load biryani on his car that was parked near Upasana Guest House. Give him company to load the order on the car. But Rahul who had gone with the man did not return.
The complainant and other family members tried to contact him on his mobile but it was switched off. Later, he lodged a report at the Babu Purwa police station.
On August 24, 2017 they received information that an unidentified body was lying near Achalganj police station area in Unnao district which was identified as that of Rahul. He suspected the unknown person to be the murderer who had placed the biryani order.
The police after investigation arrested Shivraj Verma, Lalit Kumar Pandey, Vikram Kumar Jatav and Kshitij Kumar, all residents of Babu Purwa locality.
The court in its order observed that the accused had called Rahul Verma through Vikram Jatav and Shiv Raj Sharma and then killed him by tightening a rope on his neck and thereafter took the dead body on a car owned by one Sita Daniel which was brought by Kshitij Kumar and threw the body in Achalganj.
