Gujarat Election Result 2022 LIVE Updates: The votes polled in the Gujarat Election 2022 are being counted by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The voting for Gujarat Assembly Election 2022 was held in two phases. The Gujarat Election Result 2022 would be declared as soon as the counting of votes is done for the 182-member Assembly. The Gujarat Assembly Election 2022 was fought between the BJP, the Congress and the AAP. Gujarat has been a stronghold of the BJP for 27 years. Congress may fail to hold Leader of Opposition position
Gujarat's assembly has 182 seats and a party needs at least 10% strength to send a Leader of Opposition, or LoP. The Congress with its worst-ever performance in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state doesn't have the numbers needed to appoint a LoP. With only 16 seats out of 182, it officially not enough to control LoP position.

With this landslide victory, BJP has broken all records. Bhupendra Patel has created history by returning to power with the highest number of seats in the Gujarat Assembly. As per the trends, the party is leading in 158 of the state’s 182 Assembly seats.
This will be the seventh straight triumph for BJP in Gujarat. Earlier, the party remained victorious in 1995, 1998, 2002, 2007, 2012, and 2017.
AAP has failed to edge past Congress as the key opposition in the state. As per the trends, it is likely to limit to a single digit. However, the party is all set to become the latest political outfit to get the status of 'national party' status.
Meanwhile, Congress retains its opposition place in the state, however, it is likely to win less than 20 seats. As per the current trends, the party is leading in 17 out of 182 Assembly seats.
AAP, which makes a debut this year, has eaten the Congress’s vote share, but couldn't take a pie from BJP.
