Vadodara: Former opposition leader in the VMC from Congress party, Chinnam Gandhi (65), who was widely appreciated for taking up people’s issues died on Wednesday. Gandhi, a former M S University student leader, had won four elections as a corporator from wards in the southern parts of the city. He also lost elections in 2005 and 2015. During the pandemic, he started feeding the poor. After slamming his party members, Gandhi was suspended from the Congress in 2016 after which he briefly joined AAP and was also made its city unit president. He, however, rejoined the Congress in 2017 ahead of the assembly polls.
