ACB raids properties of 2 govt officers in city, assets worth 23 crore seized
Jaipur: Seven Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) teams on Tuesday raided the houses and other properties of two government officers posted at the Information Technology (IT) department and Jaipur Discom, respectively, and unearthed total assets worth nearly Rs 23 crore. The movable and immovable assets include expensive gold watches, luxurious houses with home-theatre, gym and escalator, cash, gold and silver jewellery and an expensive pigeon.
ACB DGP BL Soni said the bureau had registered a case of disproportionate assets (DA) against the officers.
Soni said, “Two ACB teams raided the houses and other establishments of Pratibha Kamal, information assistant at the IT department. We found that her acquired income was 12 times more than her legitimate earnings.”
“We have found moveable and immoveable assets worth Rs 6.5 crore which included Rs 22.90 lakh in cash, gold jewellery weighing around 1.3kg, silver jewellery and other items weighing around 2kg, a BMW car and a BMW bike, 11 bank accounts, insurance policies and land papers.”
Five separate teams raided the house and other properties of Deepak Kumar Gupta, assistant accounts officer, Jaipur Discom, and found movable and immovable assets worth nearly Rs 16.30 crore.
“We have found assets worth Rs 16.30 crore which included Rs 14 lakh in cash, 1kg gold jewellery, 20kg silver items, luxurious home equipped with home-theatre, gym and lift. Gupta’s income was also 12 times higher than his legitimate earnings,” Soni added.
Authorities said Gupta’s house has censor based fans, ACs and various kinds of costly gadgets. “We will do the actual valuation of the house with the help of PWD officials,” he added.
