Relocate ticket counter at city north railway station: Assn
Coimbatore: Members of the district railways and airways passenger welfare association have urged Southern Railway to relocate the unreserved ticket counter to its previous spot at Coimbatore north railway station.
Association’s chairman Jameel Ahmed said the unreserved ticket counter was merged with the passenger reservation centre on December 1.
“Because of this, the passengers could not easily identify the unreserved counter as it is far from its previous location and looks congested all the time. Besides, the new spot is not easily accessible to disabled and elderly people. At a time when many elected representatives have urged the railway ministry to develop the Coimbatore north railway station as the second terminal, the Salem division is shrinking the services in the facility,” he said. tnn
