After 2 dry days, water supply resumes in Bicholim taluka

Bicholim: Several parts of Bicholim taluka that had gone without water supply since Monday finally received water on Wednesday.
Villages of Bordem, Mulgao, Latambarcem and Punarvasan had faced restricted or no water supply in certain areas due to ongoing work on shifting a 600mm pipeline at at Bordem.
PWD had supplied tankers to some villages.
When they had not received water even until Wednesday afternoon, some villagers resorted to buying bottled water to meet their drinking needs.
PWD had planned to release water on Tuesday night. Department staff worked through the night to resolve the issue. However, work took more time than expected , sources in the PWD said.
A resident from Mulgao said that earlier restrictedwater supply would not prove such an inconvenience because there were a number of wells in the area with potable water. However, because the number of these wells has decreased, they must now go about in search of water, the local said.
