MC staffer burns waste in open, gets warning

Ludhiana: The role of MC staff came under scanner on Tuesday when a resident of Model Town had heated arguments with an MC sanitation staffer over burning of dry leaves and other waste at old Krishna Mandir road. Activist and resident of Model Town Gurpal Grewal, a businessman who had gone for morning walk, saw the MC employee burning garbage and dry leaves. Grewal has reported the matter to officials concerned. Zonal commissioner Jasdev Sekhon, said , "We have issued warning to the staffer and if he does not mend his ways, then we will take strict action against him as he can be suspended as well." tnn
