Delhi MCD election 2022 results: MCD gets its first transgender councillor, AAP's Bobi Kinnar wins

Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Bobi Kinnar from Delhi’s Sultanpuri-A ward has become the first ever transgender Councillor in Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Bobi won from by defeating Congress candidate Varuna Dhaka by 6714 votes. She secured 14821 votes against Dhaka, who managed to get only 8107 votes. Bobi is a transgender and her win significantly depicts the change in the societal mindset of people of Delhi. She had earlier contested the civic body polls in 2017 as an independent candidate.
