NEW DELHI: An assistant sub-inspector allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday morning inside a park in Sector-19, Dwarka. He has been identified as Ashok Yadav (55), who was posted with the traffic unit of Tughlaq Road Circle, New Delhi district.
Police got to know around 9am about a man’s body found in the district park with a gunshot wound. Prima facie, it appears that he had shot himself with his weapon, police said. Yadav is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son.
M Harsha Vardhan, DCP (Dwarka), said, “Crime and forensic teams have examined the spot and inquest proceedings are being conducted.” No foul play is suspected and no suicide note has been found, he said, adding that the reason behind Yadav’s extreme step is not determined yet.
