Wanted in a cheating case, man held from Delhi airport

Ludhiana: A man who allegedly cheated a Ludhiana resident of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of sending him abroad has been arrested from Delhi airport. The accused was identified as Aijaz who originally belonged to Madhubani area of Bihar.
Kotwali police station has brought the accused from Delhi airport to Ludhiana. Inspector Sanjeev Kapoor, SHO, division number 1 police station, said in 2020, accused Irfan and Aijaz and his wife had allegedly cheated Jaswant Singh of the city of about Rs 11 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad. He said after investigation, it was found that Aijaz had fled to Dubai, after which the Ludhiana police issued a look out circular against him.
Police officials said few days ago, Aijaz took a flight from Dubai to Delhi and as soon as he landed at the Delhi airport, police arrested him. They said Irfan, other accused in the case, had already been arrested.
