BALLARI: Miffed for being coldshouldered by BJP, mining baron and former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy is planning to relocate to Gangavati in Koppal district and contest next year’s elections from there.
He is also said to be mulling launching his own party.
Last month, the Supreme Court briefly lifted a ban on Reddy entering Ballari — imposed because of his alleged involvement in the illegal mining scam — but he is now planning to move out, although his supporters haveappealed to him not to.
Reddy visited Anjanadri in Koppal, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, and participated in the Sankirtana Yatra on Monday.
Meanwhile, ST welfare and transport minister B Sriramulu’s absence from a family event involving Reddy, suggests all is not well between the two. The two are close friends.
Sriramulu clarified: “I didn’t attend the naming ceremony of Reddy’s granddaughter as I was in Jaipur on pre-scheduled work.
