Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.61% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:55AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Natco Pharma(up 1.3 per cent), Laurus(up 0.48 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.46 per cent) and Sanofi India(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 1.93 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 1.22 per cent), Biocon(down 1.15 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.99 per cent) and Granules India(down 0.94 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.61 per cent at 12973.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 61.4 points at 18639.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 216.84 points at 62617.76.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, , , and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , Bank of India, and Union Bank India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Amiable Logistic(India)Ltd., Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd., , and . hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
