
Dan McLaughlin, Cardinal TV's long-time announcer, was charged as a persistent offender under DWI rules on Monday. The charges follow Dan's arrest on Sunday in a suburb of St. Louis.
A subsequent field sobriety test indicated that the driver was impaired, leading to the arrest of McLaughlin. He then was charged as a habitual offender when reports confirmed that Dan was previously arrested twice on similar DWI charges. As a result, he faces class E felony charges with a maximum prison sentence of four years.

According to the Creve Coeur Police (in Missouri), two calls reported suspicious driving of a car on Sunday night in suburban St. Louis. Sensing that it could be drunken driving, the Police followed Dan and pulled him over after he failed to maintain the driving lane on I-270.A subsequent field sobriety test indicated that the driver was impaired, leading to the arrest of McLaughlin.
