Ludhiana: As many as 27 students have got enrolled in Meritorious School, Ludhiana through an inter-meritorious migration process that started on November 17, while 14 students have also been transferred to other schools from this school.
In the recent migration process, 297 seats for girls and 193 seats for boys were filled in Class 11. Out of total 300 seats for girls, two in non-medical and one in commerce streams are still vacant; and out of the 200 seats for boys, seven seats in medical stream are vacant.
Counselling process for ten meritorious schools situated in Amritsar, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, SAS Nagar, Patiala, Sangrur and Talwara was held in August at 22 centres across Punjab, after the entrance exam for the same in May.
In Ludhiana, of the 300 seats in the non-medical stream, 180 are reserved for girls, and of the 100 each in medical and commerce streams, 60 each are reserved for girls.
Vishwakirat Kahlon, principal of Meritorious School, Ludhiana said, “Around 99% of the seats had already been filled during counselling. Further, as several students withdrew their admissions, some seats are vacant, and students who want can aplly wherever the seats are vacant.”
