Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.38% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:21AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Bosch(up 0.44 per cent), Tata Motors(up 0.34 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 0.09 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 0.03 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Samvardhana Motherson International(down 1.72 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 1.36 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.27 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 0.92 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(down 0.88 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.38 per cent at 12957.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 85.2 points at 18615.85, while the BSE Sensex was down 294.48 points at 62540.12.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, , YES Bank, and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , Westlife Dev., , and Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd., Amiable Logistic(India)Ltd., , and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
