₹35,000 bribe lands cop in ACB’s net
Thane: An assistant police inspector attached to Thane city police has been arrested for taking Rs 35,000 bribe from a man against whom offences under sections 498A, 323 and 504 of the IPC had been filed, reports Nishikant Karlikar. He had demanded the bribe not take action under the Dowry Act and sections of rape and IT Acts. Ramesh Lahigude, attached to Mumbra police, had demanded Rs 80,000, but settled for Rs 35,000. The complainant approached the ACB.
