Gurgaon: The chief minister’s flying squad conducted a raid at a cafe-cum-restaurant in Sector 30, which allegedly served alcohol without a licence. The officials on Sunday said the alcohol was being served at the cafe by evading fees and without requisite permission from the excise department.
Acting on a tip-off, the team reached the cafe along with cops from Sector 40 police station and found dozens of people having alcohol which was sold illegally by the owner.
“When we reached the spot, we found people drinking alcohol with loud music playing in the background. We saw that the operator and the manager of the cafe were present and we started interrogating them about the license,” said an official.
The operator of the cafe, Bajrangi, and manager, Santosh, could not produce the license for serving alcohol, when asked by the officials. Bajrangi is a native of
Uttar Pradesh.
