Ludhiana: The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is all set to hold the 25th Chrysanthemum Show-cum-Exhibition on December 6 and 7, after a gap of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show would be jointly organised by the departments of floriculture and landscaping, and estate organization at Dr Manmohan Singh Auditorium, here.
This show is organised annually in the memory of renowned Punjabi poet, scholar and author Bhai Vir Singh, who also had ample love for flowers. PAU vice-chancellor Satbir Singh Gosal will inaugurate the show on Tuesday.
Giving details, K K Dhatt, head of department of floriculture and landscaping said there would be 12 categories for various floriculture competitions in chrysanthemum including incurved, reflexed, intermediate, spider, decorative, single, pompon and spoon. The plants will be available for sale after inauguration at Rs 100 per pot, she added.
Ranjit Singh, a floriculture expert called upon nature lovers, amateurs, educational institutions and public to visit the show and enjoy the beautiful flowers.
