One held from Panvel for job scam

Margao: Police on Sunday nabbed Manuel D’Costa at Panvel, Mumbai, for allegedly duping a Margao resident to the tune of Rs 12 lakh by giving him a false assurance of providing an overseas job.
Police sources said that the action was based on a complaint filed by the victim, Guruudas Lotlikar, with the Margao town police station some six months ago.
D’Costa had persuaded Lotlikar to part with Rs 12 lakh in lieu of a job in the USA, following which he disappeared.
The Margao town police were on his trail since then.
Acting on specific information that the accused was spotted at Panvel, Margao town police tracked down his location and apprehended him at Panvel and brought to Goa.
Margao town police inspector Tulshidas Naik said that police are investigating if the accused has duped some more persons.
