Gurgaon: Scores of homebuyers of Raheja Revanta staged a protest at Raheja Mall against the developer for failing to deliver the project, over 10 years after it was launched.
According to buyers, the Sector 78 project was launched in 2011 with delivery promised by 2015-2017. There has been no actual work on the site since 2017, buyers said. “I invested Rs 1.7 crore in the project. In 2019, HRERA directed Raheja to compensate us with the amount paid plus 10% interest, but it hasn’t complied with the directions till date,” said Naresh Gupta, another buyer.
Meanwhile, the developer said to make the project ready for possession, it requires external infrastructure, which is yet to be developed by the government “We can’t risk the lives of 1,000 families to inhabit the complex without basic infrastructure,” said Dimple Bhardwaj, its spokesperson.
“The developer is not even giving us any firm date for completion of the project backed by a project plan. Blaming the government is the easy way out,” said Arjun Punia, the president of Revanta Gurgaon Flat Buyers’ Association. tnn
