Mysuru: Zilla panchayat CEO B R Poornima has directed the authorities concerned to conduct awareness programmes at every polling station to encourage eligible voters to cast their vote without fail. During a meeting organised to discuss work under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), the CEO urged the officials to take measures to enrol the names of college students, and approach college principals in this regard. The electoral roll revision campaign has been successfully conducted under the leadership of the deputy commissioner, and the district election nodal officer. Poornima also directed the officials to concentrate more on rural voters, particularly villagers living on forest fringes, and specially abled persons.

Carnatic violin duet at ashramMysore: Amrithavarshini Bhargava and Mysore Vishveshwara Bhargava, disciples of Mysore V Amba Prasad, recentaly performed a Carnatic violin duet at Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram, as part of Nadarchana, the yearlong cultural programmes.
