BHUBANESWAR: Government schools in the state are highly sought after and can compete with institutes across the country, chief minister
Naveen Patnaik said at the Make in Odisha conclave-2022 here on Saturday.
Speaking about the initiatives taken by the state government to transform schools, Naveen said, "Our transformation initiatives in the school education sector has delivered stellar results. Our initiatives, driven by 5T principles, have unlocked new aspirations and opened new doors for the high school students."
He added, "Smart classrooms, well developed e-libraries, state-of-the-art laboratories, advanced sports infrastructure and child-friendly campuses have led to an increase in enrolment in government-run and government-aided schools. Our schools have clinched top ranks in national schools rankings survey. Transformation in education is not a dream any more. It is a reality now."
Dubbing Odisha's Mo School and the Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya Sangathan initiatives as visionary, the CM said that they have made history at the national level. "The Mo School initiative, which is one of the largest alumni connect programmes of the world, has revamped over 50,000 government schools with the help of more than 30 lakh alumni and community members. Besides, the government has set up 315 OAVs and an iconic OAV to ensure quality education to each deserving child," Naveen said.
In MIO 2022, the school and mass education department received letters of intent from Brooklyn University, USA and a number of corporate houses, extending support to the school transformation initiatives.
