Follow UGC norms, guv tells pvt univs

Ranchi: Governor Ramesh Bais on Saturday said all private universities should function under the guidelines of the University Grants Commission and government standards. He also said all such universities should hold classes regularly and the level of research work must be improved based on the National Education Policy 2020. Bais made the statement while attending the convocation of the ICFAI University Jharkhand at the Aryabhatta Auditorium here. During the convocation, the university gave away degrees to 139 graduates, and nine gold and silver medals to subject toppers.
Appreciating the initiatives of the ICFAI University, the governor said it should also take up measures for making its placement cell and infrastructure better and provide fee concessions to local students. He congratulated Sangeeta Kachap, on receiving the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship to study at the University of Sussex.
