HEC execs protest enters 29th day

Ranchi: Striking executives of Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd.(HEC), Ranchi, took out a torch rally and burnt “headless” effigies of the PSU management, as their indefinite strike entered the 29th day on Friday. Crucial talks with HEC CMD, Dr Nalin Shinghal, who had flown in from New Delhi to talk to the striking executives on November 30, yielded no results, after agitators alleged that the PSU chief failed to address their demands of a comprehensive road map for a quick revival of the ailing PSU and an early payment of all unpaid salaries.
Nearly 400 executives have been on an indefinite dharna at the HEC gates, since November 3, to demand salaries that have remained unpaid for the past 13 months. tnn
