Man murders younger brother
Mangaluru: A man allegedly assaulted his younger brother with an iron rod, and murdered him at Kemminje village in Puttur.
The deceased is Mahadev, who was assaulted by Lingappa. The duo, who were working at a building construction site, had an argument over a financial issue on Thursday night. In the melee, Mahadeva had hit Lingappa on his back.
Meanwhile, in a fit of rage, Lingappa assaulted his younger brother with an iron rod, and fled from the spot. Though an injured Mahadev was rushed to the hospital, the doctors there declared him dead. Puttur town police have registered a case.
Fisherman’s body found
The body of a fisherman, who went missing after falling from a fishing boat ‘Sri Yaksheshwari’ at Gangolli port, was found in the Panchagangavali River on Friday. Police said that the deceased Pramod Minj,32, had fallen from the fishing boat while unloading fish on November 30. Gangolli police have registered a case.
Two booked for
submitting forged DL
Padubidri police registered a case against two persons, for allegedly submitting a forged driving licence to an insurance company, to claim compensation for the damage caused to a car that hit an electricity pole.
Police said that the accused are Kandal Kodi Naushad,59, and Nabeel K Shad of Kankanady, Mangaluru. Their car had hit an electricity pole at Thenka Yermal on August 13.
A case has been registered under various sections of the IPC.
