State receives investment intent of ₹1.7L-cr more
Bhubaneswar: The state government on Friday said it had got investment intent of another Rs 1.7 lakh crore, taking total investment intent received so far in the Make in Odisha conclave to Rs 8.9 lakh crore.
The amount is more than the total size of Odisha’s economy with a projected Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Rs 7.2 lakh crore. Industries secretary Hemant Sharma said total 180 investment intents were received in various sectors with potential to generate employment for 3.7 lakh people.
Out of the 180 intents, 46 are in mineral, metal, ancillary and downstream (Rs 78,000 crore), 43 are in agriculture and food processing (Rs 3,500 crore), 24 in information technology (Rs 6,000 crore), 22 in power and renewable energy (Rs 51,000 crore), 17 in chemical and plastic (Rs 29,000 crore), nine in textile, apparel and garment (Rs 2,100 crore), five in agri marketing and 14 in agri businesses (Rs 650 crore). Sharma said the total number of investment intents received were 325 with 145 on Thursday.
