Link bank accounts with Aadhaar, farmers told

Coimbatore: District agriculture officials have asked farmers to link their bank accounts with Aadhaar to receive monetary benefits under the Prathan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme in the next round of distribution.
Under the scheme, 6,000 is distributed to every small and marginal farmer in three installments yearly. The amount is credited to the beneficiary’s bank account under the direct benefit transfer system.
The beneficiaries have been issued the money in 12 rounds so far since the implementation of the scheme.
An agriculture official said it was mandatory for the farmers to link their bank accounts with Aadhaar to receive the money during the 13th round of distribution, which is scheduled shortly. “They can get it done by visiting E-seva centres and post offices.”
Farmers could also do it themselves on PM Kisan mobile application or the website https://pmkisan.gov.in.aadharekyc.aspx
The officer said the farmers were communicated about the same with the help of the fertilizer sales centres in the district.
