Civic body to restore service lanes

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday decided to restore the conservancy lanes that have turned into garbage dumpyards with some even being encroached upon.
The councillors have strongly pressed for repair and restoration of conservancy lanes (meant for facilitating utility services such as passage for cesspool vehicle, fire engines, ambulance and other utility vehicle) at the three-day Atma Manthan workshop that concluded on Thursday. The lanes have also turned into mosquito dens.
Such lanes are mostly in Unit-1, II and VI government quarters and residential posh localities such as Satya Nagar, Saheed Nagar and Bapuji Nagar.
