The NSE Nifty index closed 116.4 points down at 18696.1, while BSE Sensex ended down 415.69 points at 62868.5.
On the other hand, .(down 3.07 per cent), Mahindra & .(down 2.23 per cent), Ltd.(down 2.17 per cent), .(down 1.79 per cent) and .(down 1.79 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
