KANPUR: A woman hanged herself to death after killing her two-year-old son late on Tuesday night in Maswanpur area under the limits of Rawatpur police station of the city.
On being informed, ACP Kalyanpur Vikas Kumar Pandey and the forensic team reached the spot along with Rawatpur police. The woman’s parents have accused her husband and in-laws of killing the woman and then hanging the body to make it appear a case of suicide.

The couple had a son. Seema’s father Vijay alleged that her husband and in-laws started torturing her after marriage. They used to thrash her and make hostage and did not even allow her to talk to her parents or siblings.
Vijay said that , Vishal’s younger brother Vivek reached home late on Tuesday evening. When even after repeated knockings on the door, there was no response he informed the police control room.
Rawatpur police station in-charge Sanjay Shukla and policemen entered the house through a ladder and found Seema’s body hanging from the ceiling of a room on the first floor of the house and the body of her two-year-old son Manan was lying on the sofa in another room. Blood was oozing from his mouth.
Vivek also informed Seema’s elder sister Soni and her father. Her father created a ruckus accusing her in-laws of murder. “Investigations are underway. Police are awaiting a complaint from the woman’s family members,” said ACP.
