‘Won’t accept irregularities at feast fair’

Margao: A day after residents of Maddel, Margao, wrote to the chief officer of Margao Municipal Council (MMC) urging him to take steps to prevent any kind of public nuisance at the upcoming feast fair to at old market, Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai on Thursday warned MMC and the police against brooking any sort of irregularities in the feast fair.
“There are doubts about the intentions of the MMC with regards to the feast fair. The Maddel residents have already told the municipality to put things in order for the feast fair. This has no longer remained a feast (fair), there are different rackets going on there. There is now a talk of stalls being allotted to a councillor,” Sardesai told reporters.
He warned the municipality as well as the police to do the feast fair in a proper manner or “be ready to face the court.”
