RERA scam: Architects seek security for whistleblower

KALYAN: The architect community on Wednesday supported fellow architect Sandeep Patil, who exposed the RERA scam involving 65 developers in Kalyan and Dombivli.
Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, the Indian Institute of Architect Association demanded that Thane police provide police protection to Patil. They said his life was in danger for exposing the scam in which many influential people are involved.
Meanwhile, Patil alleged that the Special Investigation Team, probing the scam, is under pressure and has not yet arrested many developers involved in the case.
Patil exposed 65 developers in Kalyan-Dombivli who did not take any permission from the town planning department of KDMC and prepared forged permission documents and used them to get RERA certificates.
