Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:19AM

Sakthi Sugars(up 3.81%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 2.45%), BAJAJHIND(up 1.79%), & Chemicals(up 1.66%), & Industries(up 1.25%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 1.14%), AVADHSUGAR(up 1.05%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 0.86%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 0.79%) and Rana Sugars(up 0.66%) were among the top gainers.

Balrampur Chini Mills(down 1.07%), EID Parry(down 1.05%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.66%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 0.50%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.47%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 0.43%) and K.M.Sugar Mills(down 0.19%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 79.65 points up at 18838.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 249.04 points at 63348.69 at around 10:19AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 2.63%), Tata Consultancy(up 2.12%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.0%), HCL Technologies(up 1.61%), Infosys(up 1.59%), Wipro(up 1.27%), HDFC Bank(up 1.26%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.04%), Grasim Industries(up 0.9%) and Larsen & Toubro(up 0.89%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto(down 1.67%), UPL Ltd(down 1.18%), Cipla(down 1.07%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.93%), Nestle India(down 0.79%), ITC(down 0.66%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.54%), ICICI Bank(down 0.52%), NTPC(down 0.52%) and Coal India(down 0.44%) were trading in the red.
