Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 6.05%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.37%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 1.88%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 1.65%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 1.36%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 1.05%), EID Parry(down 0.90%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 0.46%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 0.44%) and KCP Sugar & Industries(down 0.40%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 54.15 points up at 18812.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 184.54 points at 63284.19.
Tata Steel(up 2.88%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.82%), UltraTech Cement(up 2.78%), Tata Consultancy(up 2.5%), Grasim Industries(up 2.28%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.27%), Wipro(up 1.67%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.42%), HCL Technologies(up 1.39%) and Infosys(up 1.35%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 1.37%), Eicher Motors(down 1.35%), ICICI Bank(down 1.33%), Cipla(down 1.29%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.15%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.94%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.93%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.8%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.75%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.74%) closed in the red.
