Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 11:25AM

Jyoti Structures(up 5.00%), PIGL(up 4.92%), GE Power India Limited(up 4.56%), Gujarat Industries Power(up 4.26%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 3.46%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 3.25%), Orient Green Power Company(up 2.94%), RTNPOWER(up 2.41%), Hitachi Energy India(up 2.13%) and DPSC(up 1.92%) were among the top gainers.

KPI Green Energy(down 2.07%), Karma Energy(down 1.97%), NLC India(down 1.30%), JSW Energy(down 0.63%), Inox Wind Energy(down 0.56%), Inox wind(down 0.51%), SJVN(down 0.38%), NTPC(down 0.23%), Adani Transmissions(down 0.20%) and Tata Power Company(down 0.13%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 76.9 points up at 18835.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 265.94 points at 63365.59 at around 11:25AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 3.02%), Tata Consultancy(up 2.42%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.37%), HCL Technologies(up 1.84%), Wipro(up 1.77%), Infosys(up 1.68%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.45%), Grasim Industries(up 1.25%), HDFC Bank(up 1.21%) and Tata Steel(up 1.16%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto(down 1.6%), Cipla(down 1.49%), UPL Ltd(down 1.23%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.14%), Nestle India(down 0.85%), ICICI Bank(down 0.78%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.75%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.64%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.62%) and ITC(down 0.53%) were trading in the red.
