Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:55AM

Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 5.00%), NMDC Ltd(up 2.51%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 2.37%), Ashapura Minechem(up 2.02%), 20 Microns(up 1.18%), MOIL(up 0.68%), Oriental Trimex(up 0.60%), KIOCL(up 0.34%) and Pokarna(up 0.31%) were among the top gainers.

Dvpt Corporation(down 0.70%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.56%) and Coal India(down 0.33%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 73.5 points up at 18831.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 279.84 points at 63379.49 at around 10:55AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 2.92%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.12%), Tata Consultancy(up 2.11%), Grasim Industries(up 1.6%), Infosys(up 1.39%), Wipro(up 1.39%), HCL Technologies(up 1.36%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.29%), HDFC Bank(up 1.15%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.1%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Auto(down 1.62%), UPL Ltd(down 1.37%), Cipla(down 1.23%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.15%), Nestle India(down 0.79%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.68%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.61%), ICICI Bank(down 0.58%), Bharti Airtel(down 0.53%) and ITC(down 0.49%) were trading in the red.
