Mysuru: The Final Adalat to clear pending files and attend to problems of city residents was carried out on Wednesday at the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC). About 98 petitions were accepted and action was taken, while 174 applications were returned with observations.
Between November 14 and 19, a total of 272 applications were received in the Adalat from the public pertaining to various departments seeking solution to their problems. After reviewing the grievances of the applicants, the MCC officials checked the documents and 98 applications were approved. Many applications were returned due to the non-availability of documents, violation of MCC rules.
The highest applications were pertaining to the revenue department with 82 applicants seeking account transfer, and pouthi khatas. Among them 35 applications were accepted and khata transfer was carried out.
The engineering department of the MCC received 59 applications. Six applications were approved while the rest of the 53 applications were rejected for violation of setback rules, illegal constructions etc.
The Ashraya house section of the corporation received as many as 54 applications. Most of these applications were related to claim letters and claim release letters. 24 applications that did not provide proper documents were returned with observations. 30 applications were related to the poverty-alleviation branch. Among these 30 applications which are related to incentives and sewing machines, steps were taken to provide sewing machines to 11 applicants after taking approval at the corporation council meeting on December 8. Remaining 19 applications were returned with observations.
Many applications were submitted to drainage, water supply, forest, horticulture, health and maramath sections of the MCC.
