BJP will get two-thirds majority: Rajnath Singh

All political analysts were of the opinion that BJP would win a two-thirds majority in the Gujarat assembly elections, defence minister Rajnath Singh has claimed. Addressing a news conference in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, Singh said Congress was 'fighting for existence' and the Aam Aadmi Party for 'registering its presence'. Congress governed the country the longest but 'even a child knows' it created 'maximum crisis of credibility' as 'its deeds never matched its words,' he alleged.

BJP is the 'only party which challenged the credibility crises' parties faced, he said. "Anyone who reads our manifesto will find that we have fulfilled all our promises. We have even acted on issues promised during the Jan Sangh days. BJP has emerged as the symbol of credibility in Indian politics. India's stature has grown internationally since Narendra Modi took over reins of the country in 2014," he claimed.

Gandhi and Patel were symbols of Gujarat's pride and glory in the twentieth century and Narendra Modi in the 21st century, he said. Singh held the entire Congress leadership responsible for 'unparliamentary' words used against Modi by Mallikarjun Kharge. He exuded confidence that people of Gujarat would give a befitting response to Kharge's remarks 'against the pride and glory' of Gujarat.
