Jaipur: Investigations into the case of a 3-year-old girl being run over by a rashly driven bike by a teenager suggest that the two-wheeler belonged to the pillion rider’s father.
Police will ask the owner to come for interrogation and if his negligence is proved, he would be liable to be punished for three years and a fine of Rs 25000 as per the amended Motor Vehicles Act.
According to police, the girl was playing outside her house near Noorani Masjid in Shastri Nagar when she was killed after being hit by a bike having three people on it.
Locals managed to catch the 14-year-old rider who was later detained by police while the other managed to flee.
According to police, the victim, Naseema Khatun, had come out of her house at 1pm on Monday.
“A case under Section 304-A of IPC has been lodged against the juvenile. However, it was found that the bike driven by him belonged to the father of the pillion rider. We have summoned him and he would be interrogated under what circumstances the bike reached 14-year-old boy,” said Rajnish Kumar, SHO,
