Cop axed for terming liquor as immunity booster to fight Covid

Jaipur: A video shot by a head constable during pandemic in which he is seen emphasising on the need of liquor and termed it an “immunity booster” went viral in Sikar on Monday.
As the video went viral, Sikar SP suspended cop by stating that suggesting “to have liquor to fight Covid-19” by the head constable comes in the category of a crime.
Girdhari Lal, a head constable and also gunman of Dhod MLA had shot a video which appears to be shot during the peak of Covid-19. TOI has also got the video through Kunwar Rastradeep, SP, Sikar in which the head constable says, “I have an idea to maintain a good immunity. Pour it into a glass (showing the liquor and its brand), add some warm water and sip it at one go. After taking it have some anjeer, five almonds and three raisins, corona will not come closer to you,” Girdhari is seen saying this in the video.
Rastradeep ordered his suspension. “If he is promoting use of liquor, it is a crime. The policeman has knowingly misguided people during Covid-19 times. A departmental probe has been ordered against him.”
