Stop toll collection from tomorrow: DC

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Ravi Kumar M R has passed an order, stating that there will be no collection of toll at the Surathkal toll plaza on National Highway-66, from Thursday onwards.
The DC has issued an order referring to the National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) Mangaluru project director’s letter on the decision taken by the ministry of road transport and highways, to merge the Surathkal toll plaza with the Hejmadi one on NH-66.
Quoting the NHAI’s letter, the DC stated that the toll for the Surathkal toll plaza shall be charged at Hejmadi, by adding toll fee for both the stretches, and present user fee.
