Medicine trader gets extortion call
Kanpur: A medicine trader Rajesh Gupta allegedly received extortion calls two days back by an unknown caller who threatened him to deposit Rs 4 lakh in two private bank accounts or he will shoot him.
Taking a serious note of the matter, the office bearers of The Retail Drug Trade Board on Monday met the Commissioner of Police BP Jogdand who assured them of a prompt action into the case.
Rajesh Gupta, owner of a medicine store on Birhana Road, received several threat calls between 11am and 6 pm on November 26 through different mobile numbers. The unknown caller abused him and threatened to shoot him if he failed to deposit four lakh rupees in mentioned bank accounts.
“I have asked my subordinates to investigate the matter and bring the culprit to book,” said the CP. tnn
