Driver trapped in auto after accident rescued

Thane: A 50-year-old auto driver was rescued from a vehicle he was trapped in after it met with a mishap near Waghbil naka, late Tuesday night, officials informed. Avinash Sawant of the regional disaster management cell said driver K Rathod was travelling towards Thane from Ghodbunder road when he probably lost control of his auto and rammed it into a road divider.
The impact threw him off the vehicle but his left foot got trapped inside the vehicle. Rescuers had to bring a metal cutter to free his trapped limb. He was rescued but with major injuries to his limbs following which he was rushed to a nearby hospital, said Sawant. — Manoj Badgeri
